Our Heritage
The Guamaní School is a private non-profit, co-educational, non-sectarian school committed in offering an English-based academic college preparatory program geared in preparing students to become knowledgeable and responsible individuals for today’s changing society.
GPS has a long history going back to its founding in 1914 in the neighboring town of Aguirre. With an enrollment of over 600 students in grades first through twelfth, Guamaní Private School is the largest and most well-established English-speaking college-preparatory school in southeastern Puerto Rico, accreditated by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Guayama is a small city of about 40,000 situated on the Caribbean coast with mountains bordering the city to the north. It offers both the charm of a historic and traditional Puerto Rican community, as well as modern restaurants, stores, and theaters.
The Guamani Private School admits students of any race, color or national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not dicriminate on the bases of race, color, or national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies and athletic and other school administered programs.
